Big things are happening. Big things! This is actually the 20th installment of the Madden franchise. With this years 20th anniversary looming we are greeted with a ton of new features for our beloved football franchise game.
Set to drop on August 12 this year on ALL systems, EA brings us one more step closer to NFL realism.
Also on a side note, the legendary Brett Favre graces the cover, which until a couple weeks ago made him the only other non playing person besides Madden himself to be on the box cover. Does he have to worry about the Madden Curse?
Apart from tweaking the good parts of the game to make them better; graphics, game play and a completely revamped franchise mode we will also be treated to the Madden IQ System in which a player can train in a simulated environment, thereby making the regular game play adjust to your skill level.
The server based leagues supporting up to 32 players have also been improved and revamped a bit. The new PIP call window is a great improvement as well allowing you to call plays without switching the screen. There is a new camera system also which lets you keep better track of your players, bringing it one step closer to the real NFL.
As you can see the game is stepping it up quite a bit this year, especially with all the new features including redone character animations, tackling engines, ball carrier and running engines, and new weather gameplay where the weather completely affects the game. Commentary will be provided by Tom Hammond and Chris Collinsworth and the real vision gets even more extended since Madden has a long running history with ESPN, it will deliver a more real vibe.
The soundtrack to the game looks interesting featuring Busta Rhymes, In Flames and Trivium, and Madden 2009 has the custom soundtrack feature too, just in case you want to hear Purple Rain every time you make a touchdown.
I haven't bought a Madden game in years and it's about time. I am definitely gonna pick this one up and school all ya'll out there.
